Cancellation of a registered right of residence and a residence cardThe police will cancel the registration of a right of residence and a fixed-term residence card if:
A permanent right of residence or a permanent residence card are cancelled if the EU citizen or his/her family member have continuously resided outside Finland for more than two years. The registration of a right of residence, a permanent right of residence or a fixed-term or permanent residence card are cancelled if they have been obtained by deliberately providing false information on the applicant's identity or other issues relevant in the matter, or by concealing such information, or by otherwise abusing the relevant rights. Within two years of moving out of the country, a person having left Finland may apply for the registration of a right of residence or residence card not to be cancelled. If this application is accepted, the decision must give the time period during which the right of residence or the residence card will not be cancelled. The registration of a right of residence or a residence card will expire if the person is deported or granted a Finnish citizenship. Back | Print page | |
